General: The Canary Islands consists of seven islands of volcanic origin in the Atlantic Ocean and are located off the north west coast of Africa. The islands are part of Spain.

The islands are: Tenerife with its capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Lanzarote with its capital Arrecife, La Palma with its capital Santa Cruz de La Palma, La Gomera with its capital San Sebastián de La Gomera, El Hierro with its capital Valverde and Fuerteventura with its capital Puerto del Rosario.
